Joseph Carens, Professor of the University of Toronto and expert in matters of inmigration and human rights, offered a conference on human rights promotion this March at the Faculty of Law of the University of Concepción. His conference opened the academic year of the Political and Administrative Sciences Study Program. The director of the study program, Waleska Muñoz, as well as other academicians and authorities were present at the conference.
We carried out a consecutive interpretation for around one and a half hour at this talk entitled ,, Between theory and practice: thoughts on the promotion of human rights in contexts of diversity”. Our interpreter sat next to the speaker and helped with her notes and memory, did an outstanding job! It was a pleasure to have opened the academic year at the University of Concepción!
